Friday Weigh In - May 18th

Good friday morning!!




Previous weight: 261.5
Today's weight: 259.5
Weight loss: 2lbs




I'm FINALY in the 250's, barely, but it still counts :) 
I even survived a potluck yesterday at work and didn't go overboard, which is huge for me! I had a plan for the potluck and I stuck with it pretty well. I took one plate and had some veggies, a few different salads, 3 small meatballs, a piece of jerk chicken, brie cheese, 2 crackers, one of my strawberries and a piece of a lemon square. I passed up buns, cheese, pasta salad, sliders, chili and brownies! I would've taken a picture of the delicious food, but I would've got strange looks from my coworkers ;) For the first time after a potluck, I actually felt satisfied and not stuffed! 


I normally run every monday and wednesday right after work with some coworkers, but I was off wednesday so I wanted to make sure that I got a run in before the weekend. I decided to change into my running clothes at work so I could go directly to the trail and not make any excuses. I had such a good run! Probably my best one yet. I'm not sure how long I ran because I was at a local trail, but I do know that it was over 3km, but not likely over 4.. so pretty good! 






For us Canadian folks, this weekend is a long weekend (Victoria Long Weekend, or better known as "May 2-4). During high school, I spent ever single May Long camping with friends and I've been camping with my family since I was a baby. Those are some of my very best memories. We camped in sun, rain, SNOW, and even during fire bans. It's been a long time since I've gone camping for this long weekend, nowadays I like waiting until June when it's more likely to be warm ;) 


I loved camping from the very beginning ;)



As I mentioned earlier this week, my mom is here. Well it's also her birthday this coming week and my sister and I wanted to do something special for her. My mom's best friend for 40+ years lives about 3 hours from my current city, so I emailed this friend and told her that my mom was coming and that we'd like to get them together. She was beyond thrilled, that haven't seen each other in about 10 years. She invited us down for the entire weekend. My mom has no idea where we're taking her... she thinks we're going camping ;) I cannot wait to see her face when she realized that we're heading to see her friend. :) 




This week is going to be very challenging and I really, REALLY don't want to gain and see the 260's again. I'll be gone all weekend, but I'm bringing my running gear to hopefully squeeze in a run. Tuesday we're going to the movies and Thursday we're going to this amazing buffet-style restaurant for my mom's birthday. If I can make it through this week and not gain, I can make it through anything.

    I definitely would of ate everything at that pot luck, lol! Good self-control!

    1. thanks! We set up the food in the boardroom and in the past I would take one of the seats in the boardroom and eat, but this time I sat in a different room with a few coworkers and I think that's what helped. I wasn't sitting there staring at all the yummy food! Lol

  2. Congratulations!!! That's such a great accomplishment...even if it's just by a little! ;) You will do GREAT this weekend--imagine yourself feel so good about your choices come Monday, and then make it happen all weekend long!!

    I smiled when I read your comment about Victoria Day weekend...my family used to have a cottage in Canada on Lake Erie and we always enjoyed celebrating both Canadian and US holidays in the summer. I remember many Victoria Day weekends! :)

      I know if I come back on monday after making really good choices all weekend, I'll feel so good about myself. I'll have to keep that in mind :)

    enjoy the long weekend. we get a long weekend next weekend for memorial (we as in people from the states).
